UD 2682 – not necessarily!

By September 21, 2016Headline News

The question of vehicle identity is a hot topic in the old car world and is just one of the reasons why the mandarins at the DVLA are currently reviewing this controversial area. Here we have UD 2682 (a 1929 Oxford registration) which is not what it appears to be, this as a direct result of the DVLA allocating an historic registration to the builder of this replica Minor Fire Tender in the eighties. The fire tender was built upon a May 1930 Minor saloon chassis (24126) by Sheffield enthusiast Peter McCall who made no secret of the fact that his car was indeed a replica, and neither did another former ‘keeper’ Tony Gamble who sold it on some years ago.
